Dearest families,
We had a very short and choppy week last week and we missed our students so much, but I will have to admit, I enjoyed my class on Unit Studies following the Project Approach and I am excited about how this can change the way we teach preschoolers! I promise you, it will be amazing!
As a teacher and a parent of young children, , I want my children to have their hands on the things they are doing. I want them to be kids that do,
not just kids that watch. So,
here we go!
For the past two years I have been taking classes on The Project Approach, but I am just now comfortable enough to dive in and change my teaching style to include some amazing research done by the students!
We have noticed in our classroom that students are interested in cameras and know so much about them, so this will begin our topic of study beginning this week. As we study cameras, we are going to be learning many important concepts and skills in literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts and technology.
At the end of our study, we will have a special event to celebrate our learning and show you what we have learned. Thank you for playing an important role in our learning.
If you have any questions, or want to come check out the things we are doing, please stop in and see us.
Please bring a picture of your family to post in our classroom, as well as a disposable camera. If you are not able to purchase a disposable camera, we will have extras in the classroom for your child.
Hugs,
Ms. Hollie and Ms. Malissa
Items to donate to our classroom:
