It was a VERY busy week and I learned something so very important about our preschool students. As many of you know, it has been a stressful week for Ms. Hollie with a very sick little boy, who was at the doctor 5 days this week and 1 day in the emergency room. Thank you God and the amazing doctors, our little boy is home and healthy again. Through all the craziness with Ms. Hollie leaving early and on the phone with doctors, the students in our class were so well behaved and so caring. I got lots of hugs and had lots of students asking me how Drew was doing each day. I LOVE these children and I love how loving they are. Thanks to a group of amazing families for raising such wonderful children.
As far as what we did in the classroom, we learned a lot about apples! The students sorted apples, measured with apples, retold the story of the life cycle of the apple, can name the parts of the apple and wrote about apples in their journals. On Monday, we will be gong to the Apple Orchard to learn even more about how apples grow and how they are prepared before they are sold.
We are VERY excited for our second field trip of the year!
One of our classmates brought grasshoppers in for the science table. "Come look at these grasshoppers, they are incredible!" One of my favorite quotes from this group of students.
We LOVE when Ms. Mikayla comes to volunteer in our classroom! Here, the students are fixing her up...I was a little concerned they were using tools on her. ;)
We added some fun building materials in the block center for the week and these kiddos decided to make a tunnel. We have some great builders!
How many apples tall are you? Nonstandard units of measuring at it's finest.
Putting numbers in correct order 1-4 and putting pictures cards in order of how an apple grows. We did great! These were put together to make a 3-D apple, which the students are very excited about taking home when they dry. Pictures of these coming soon.
Reminder! Field trip will be Monday, October 8th. We will be leaving at 9:00 and returning at 11:30. Bring your child's car seat!
Preschool pictures will be October 23rd!
